The Durban municipality tests the water on our beaches on a weekly basis, to ensure beach cleanliness and water quality. Target values and status assessments are in line with international beach quality standards.

DURBAN’S ONLY NUDE BEACH

is at Umhlanga, north of Durban. Follow the nature trail that begins near the car park at the north end of Lagoon Drive, turn left and walk up the beach until you get to the lagoon.

Please note that this is not an official nude beach (as yet), but is frequented by locals and tourists alike.
