The province of KwaZulu-Natal plays host to dozens of top-notch national parks, game and nature reserves, and wilderness areas. A few are within one hour’s drive from Durban, while others are over two hours’ drive. Most reserves fall within the one to two hour drive category. Day trips are also an option through recognized tour operators.
From tented camps to luxury lodges, our reserves offer everything in the way of accommodation; the level of luxury you wish to experience is entirely your choice.
Birding enthusiasts can have a field day (or several) in KZN. Over 600 of South Africa’s 900-odd species can be seen in our province, many of which are rarely seen in other parts of South Africa, examples being the purple-crested lourie, the lammergeyer, the spotted thrush, mangrove kingfisher, Pel’s fishing owl and the palmnut vulture. Don’t miss out on our majestic fish eagles. |
